Circles ReBoot: Intervention and Support for people who access CSEM

Circles ReBoot Support for people who access CSEM

Circles ReBoot is available as a 3–6-month intervention contract designed to specifically work with and support CSEM (Child Sexual Explicit Material) offenders.

Why a specific programme for people who access CSEM?

Making referrals to Circle ReBoot

The ReBoot programme is based on CoSA’s proven methodology of but involves more structured sessions and exercises. ReBoot is specifically designed to address the needs of these individuals assessed as ‘lower risk’ but for whom the risk may increase without timely intervention, and whose conviction will have likely left them isolated, leaving them at risk of returning to old behaviours.

ReBoot aims to build their strengths and confidence, and develop hobbies and relationships offline, as well as coping mechanisms for future challenges.

In situations where families are affected by the impact of a conviction for CSEM Circles South East delivers Restoring the Balance Programme.

This is a voluntary programme and Circles South East will only work with individuals motivated to make changes to their lives, so they won’t offend again, but don’t have the knowledge or the skills to do so themselves.

We take referrals for Circles ReBoot from police and probation and report back to both agencies on attendance and any changes to risk noted by our trained volunteers.

As with all Circles of Support and Accountability, the Core Member is likely to be socially isolated, so the interaction and support provided by the Circle can act as a catalyst for positive change.
