Circles South East has been recruiting, training and supervising volunteers to contribute to work carried out in the field of sexual abuse since 2002. In that time we have worked with over a thousand volunteers. Some people think you need specialist knowledge or experience to undertake this work safely and effectively. While we welcome relevant experience it is not necessary. Actually what we are seeking is people from all walks of life who are reliable, empathic, boundaried and able to commit to the work for two to three hours a week. Our dedicated staff team provide all the training, support and expertise necessary so that volunteers enjoy a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience. Training is free and all expenses incurred through volunteering with us are paid.
Counselling
We have been offering a free counselling service for all those impacted by sexual abuse for some time. Lottery funding has now allowed us to extend the service to the whole of our region.
If you would like to refer someone for counselling, or to talk to someone about the service, please contact the office using contact details provided.
If you are interested in becoming one of our volunteer counsellors please note that you will need to be fully qualified with at least 50 hours of clinically supervised counselling and have BACP (or similar) membership. We offer induction training, opportunities to expand knowledge and experience, supplementary training (towards CPD) and expenses.
