Sexual harm risk assessments
Sexual Harm Risk Assessments from Circles South East will assess an individual’s capacity to cause sexual harm, the presence of protective factors that mitigate the risk and formulate risk management strategies to reduce that risk.
The assessment will consider the situation/behaviour giving rise to concerns, the individual’s personal circumstances and their insight into their behaviour and the impact of this on others, substance misuse, mental health issues, relationships and steps they have taken to address the risk and their engagement with support and interventions. The assessment contextualises the risk alongside identifying protective factor that may be present or should be developed to mitigate the risk.
Delivery
Referrals
Completion of a Sexual Harm Risk Assessment takes 10 weeks. We undertake sessions online (offering the service nationally), or in person where feasible.
Once the work is completed, we produce a Sexual Harm Risk Assessment report with recommendations for further work where appropriate. These reports can be used in Child Protection proceedings, Child in Need proceedings and Family Court hearings contributing to safeguarding decisions.
We accept referrals from statutory agencies and Local Authorities, Family Courts and legal representatives.
We do accept self-referrals which must be privately funded.
We are able to provide positive interventions aspects that may reduce the risk of harm, such as our Circles of Support and Accountability, Counselling and safeguarding work with families to safeguard against future sexual harm and reduce isolation for the individual convicted.
Circles South East also completes Capacity to Protect Assessments and AIM3 Assessments.
Our assessments, programmes and interventions can be purchased individually, or we can include them in a contract of support. For more information on any of the services listed above contact us on 01235 816050 or email hub@circlessoutheast.org.uk
