Circles South East Counselling and Free Services for Survivors
Circles South East has recruited and trained a cohort of counsellors who offer their services free of charge. We take referrals for:
- Survivors of sexual abuse
- Perpetrators of sexual abuse whose unresolved trauma is linked to their offending behaviour
- Non-offending partners of sexual abusers
All of our counsellors are either fully qualified with at least 50 hours of clinically supervised experience or students in their last year of studies. We help fully qualified counsellors with the costs of supervision and we offer in-house supervision for counsellors on placement with us at the reduced cost.
Meliora – Support for Survivors by Survivors
The aim of this service is to reduce isolation & loneliness, build healthy relationships, and develop confidence and self-esteem. Our hope is that with the help of the group, the service user will re-claim more personal control and build the confidence to restore their lives. Meliora support groups are formed of 2 trained volunteers and a Service User. All members of the group have a lived experience of surviving sexual abuse themselves or through loved ones. You meet regularly; the suggestion is initially once a week. The number of meetings will reduce over time. Meetings take place in-person face to face and virtually. The needs and wishes of the Meliora support group’s user shape the direction of the group.
